MCCALL - Outdoor Conversations @ Payette Dream

The Frank-Church River of No Return Wilderness, due to its hard to reach remote location, often creates an experience of solitude and rugged beauty for its visitors. Unknown to many, landscapes in the Wilderness once supported bustling mining towns and an extensive network of telephone communications and lookouts that were there to help defend public lands from wildfires during WWII Payette National Forest archaeologist, Dr. Morgan Zedalis, will be sharing stories that accompany these historic landmarks in the “Frank”. In addition, she will be inviting a discussion on the interest in recreational tourism for historic sites and ideas for creating educational and interpretive information for visitors while maintaining Wilderness character.
