DESCRIPTION:

Join us as we hike deep into the Selway-Bitterroot to reestablish the horseshoe-shaped loop route connecting the Bear Creek and Big Creek trails to the Bitterroot Valley. This might be your project if you’re looking for an immersive Wilderness experience!

Nestled between Packbox Pass to the north and Sky Pilot to the south, the priority trails are Garnet Creek #43 (3.7 miles) and Colt Killed Creek #50 (approx. 3.7-mile section of 26-mile trail) on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Project work will include clearing logs and fallen trees, brushing back vegetation, improving trail drainage, and restabilizing trail tread.

This is a strenuous trip with pack support. We will have a packer to haul in tools, equipment, group gear, and food, however individuals will need to carry their own personal gear and items (see packing list).

SBFC will provide breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks.
