North Fork Lick Creek #082

Basecamp: 3.5-4.5 miles from the trailhead, 1800’ climb

Starting at the Split Creek Trailhead, this project takes you deep into the rugged west-central Idaho backcountry. Located within the Payette National Forest, you’ll be working in a unique roadless area currently recommended for Wilderness designation. 

Our objective is to improve the North Fork Lick Creek/Hum Lake #082, clearing fallen logs and heavy brush along a steady, challenging ascent to Hum Lake.

This is a strenuous backpacking project with no stock assistance. Volunteer “human porters” will assist project participants by carrying tools and group gear to our high-elevation basecamp.
