If you’re a history buff with a penchant for Idaho frontier history, or simply a fan of crisp, autumn mountain air, this might be the project for you! Join us on the Nez Perce Indian Trail #13 as we work toward the historic 1863 Lloyd Magruder Massacre Site. Our mission is to maintain the steep, 1.5-mile ridge route rising from the Selway River. Tasks include heavy brushing to open the corridor, sporadic log clearing, and retreading the trail surface to ensure this route remains accessible.

This is a moderate project. We will be car camping at Magruder Crossing and commuting approximately five miles by car to the trailhead each day.

Accessing the trail requires fording the Selway River. While water levels are expected to be low in the fall, volunteers should bring creek crossing shoes.

SBFC will provide breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks.
