Westside Trail #023
Dates: September 3-6
Location: Boise National Forest
Difficulty: Moderate, trailhead-based car camping
details:
Spend your Labor Day weekend stewarding the scenic west side of Deadwood Reservoir. This project bridges two different fire landscapes: the southern end of the Westside Trail #023, impacted by fire last year, and the northern end, which runs through an older burn.
Maximize your holiday weekend by helping restore this non-motorized trail, finishing with plenty of time to enjoy your Labor Day Monday! Tasks include cleaning water drains, improving trail tread, and brushing vegetation to improve accessibility.
This is a moderate project with trailhead-based car camping. Enjoy the convenience of camping near your vehicle while working in a beautiful lakeside environment. Be sure to bring your kayak or fishing rod to enjoy the reservoir after the workday!
Unlike our wilderness hitches, meals are not provided by SBFC for this project. Instead, registered volunteers can request a $32/day per diem reimbursement. A simple reimbursement form will be provided.
